WHY BECOME A PATRON EDUCATORS

1. YOU GET POWERFUL TOOLS FOR EDUCATION

Film is a powerful tool for education. Several research studies suggest that film can be an effective tool for:

  • Increasing motivation to learn
  • Stimulating discussion
  • Evoking emotions and empathy
  • Helping learners explore complex ideas
  • Fostering a sense of connectedness

Through the Become A Patron Educators (BAPE) program, Become A Patron offers educators a wide range of documentaries and short films touching on social issues as it relates to the arts. These film resources provide a great tool for engaging students, fostering learning, discussion, and action on pressing social justice issues.

2. YOU GET A SUPPLEMENTARY DISCUSSION GUIDE

In addition to the film content provided through the BAPE program, educators can also access discussion guides for each film they receive. The discussion guides incorporate background information to provide context for the film and a set of well-crafted discussion questions to provoke critical thinking, in-depth exploration of issues and discussion during class sessions.

3. IT'S FREE TO HIGH SCHOOLS!
